History of Lambda Delta Phi

On June 12, 1961 representatives from sororities at six American Universities came together to adopt the idea of a national sorority with the common aim of nondiscrimination. Four of these groups, including the University of Minnesota, chose to affiliate with Lambda Delta Phi. In joining together under the new national, these sororities dropped all previous local affiliations. Lambda Delta Phi has remained vibrant, exciting, and willing to change to meet the needs of the individuals who comprise it. It is still a true sisterhood. It is hoped that each woman who joins Lambda Delta Phi will realize that much of its history is still to be made and is theirs for the making.
